About the Blog
New Living Translation Bible (2007) directs Christians “Learn to do good. Seek justice, Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of the orphans. Fight for the rights of the widow”. We are morally responsible for caring for children living. Vulnerable poor children traumatized and torn from their culture and family bloodline become legal orphans. Our tax dollars are paying for services that these children should be receiving.
Poverty is the lead cause of 63% of children in foster care because of “neglect,” not abuse. These agencies sever family ties and take children from parents not because of abuse they would like the public to believe. Instead, neglect defined by the agency as inadequate housing, medical care, food, utilities cut off, etc. Anyone can make a report resulting in a child being removed from birth mother for neglect without proof and anonymously. Legal proceedings do not regulate the Child Protection Agencies (CPS), Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and Juvenile Child court. I learned that hire of legal representation is futile because this agency monitors itself via administrative persons. I requested services for my foster child. I was told by the Guardian of Litem, in her opinion, were not needed, nor offer such services.
Biological and foster parents are given inaccurate information intentionally and without notice. Parents are not given information or support to addressing basic Maslow’s needs, housing, nutritional, health needs. There is not enough time given to the parent to secure housing, food benefits, or recommended parenting classes in some cases. Mothers lack financial support and resources.
They often adopt minority children into affluent non-minority families, EPPIC (Empowering Parents and Protecting Children). Martin Guggenheim taught at the NYU School of Law, A history of Child Welfare.
